ATLANTA -- There are tons of fun events going on this weekend, in your area. We’ve listed a few of them for you to check out with your family and friends.

Check out the weekly Food Truck event at Atlantic Station on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. During this week, five or more local food truck vendors gather on 17th Street in Atlanta and they offer a variety of dining selections.

Gear up your taste buds for the beginning of Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week, which starts this weekend. This event showcases participating Downtown Atlanta restaurants with special dining promotions of three-course dinners for $25 and $35 per person, plus tip and tax.

The NBA and Sprite are holding a special dunk contest at the Atlanta Jazz Festival at Piedmont Park on Saturday, May 28. The event will be judged by Darryl Dawkins and Hall-of-Famer Dominique Wilkins.

ATLANTA - When a Memorial Day weekend's forecast includes sunny skies and highs in the upper 80s - 9s on the WIZometer - there's a good bet people will be spending a lot of time outside. 

And when people spend a lot of time out by the pool or on the lake, there's probably alcohol around.

Drinking excessive amounts of alcohol can have devastating consequences. So, it's always a good policy to drink responsibly, assign a designated driver and keep things safe when you're drinking. 

But, as anybody who's had a little too much to drink will tell you, the dreaded hangover is the most common consequence of over-drinking.
