Hollywood in Atlanta for T.I.'s New Movie Premiere

ATLANTA -- The roar in the crowd went up almost as soon as his pearl white luxury car rolled down the street.

There is no question that rapper T.I. is a superstar in music, but now with his new film "Takers", he's trying to move into the world of film as well, not just to expand his brand but to expand his craft as an actor and as a businessman.

"We enjoyed ourselves," said T.I. Harris. "Will Packer and Rainforest were gracious enough to embrace us and basically show us the ropes about what it takes to be film producers."

Several of the movie's other marquee actors showed up at the Atlantic Station Regal Cinema for the Atlanta premier, bringing with them the kind of stargazing hysteria usually reserved for Hollywood.

With more and more films being shot in Georgia, Atlanta is now on the map for film-makers.

"Are you kidding me? You've got to bring it to Atlanta, Atlanta is home," exclaimed Will Packer of Rainforest Productions. "Every opportunity I get, I'm going to bring a premiere to Atlanta. If I'm involved with it, if Rainforest is involved with it, we're going to bring it to Atlanta."

The film project has been sitting quietly in production for two years.

For many of the actors, the premier was the first time they saw the movie themselves.

"(The other actors) have been all over the place doing (appearances), and I'm just getting caught up to speed right now; everybody else is in the zone,' laughed Paul Walker, one of the movie's stars. "I did this movie two years ago, and I'm like what did we shoot again? I just got interviewed, and they were like what was your character and I couldn't remember."

Many in the film have already become big name actors, but say the experience was a memorable one.

"We were just having fun it was so much fun to make everyday," said actor Michael Ealy.

"Takers" is scheduled for nationwide release this Friday.
