National Urban League’s 2010 Economic Empowerment Tour, today from 2-8pm | Business

From 2-8 p.m., the National Urban League’s 2010 Economic Empowerment Tour: Restore Our Homes: Housing Rescue Fair & Career Fair is visiting the Atlanta area at the Marriot Marquis Hotel (265 Peachtree Center Avenue, Atlanta). 

This event is free for all attendees and participating businesses. The one-stop housing and employment event is designed to provide direct, grassroots help to those facing the threat of home foreclosure and/or needing help finding employment.

Job seekers can also attend career fair workshops like: “Resume Rebooting,” “The Winning Interview,” “Social Networking,” “Dress for Success,” and “6 Steps to Starting a Business,” which will take place throughout the afternoon.

Over 50 local employers will be on hand with about 800 immediate job opportunities. Companies planning to attend include Comcast, State Farm, Georgia Department of Labor, UPS, Rent-a-Car, Goodwill of North Georgia, Citadel Broadcasting, WSTR FM Radio, Grady Health Center, and many more.  

Foreclosure prevention workshops will also be offered to homeowners.
