Plenty of Activities This Weekend!

ATLANTA -- If all the Atlanta Pride events and parties weren't enough, there are plenty of other things to do this weekend, too.

If you're looking for a laugh, head north to the Cobb Energy Centre. Both David Sedaris and Joel McHale - too bad that's not a double bill, right? - are making stops there this weekend.

If you want to spend the day listening to bands and the evening watching awesomely bad B movies, head south a few miles down Moreland Avenue to Starlight Six Drive-In Theaters for the Drive Invasion on Sunday.

And by all means, spend at least a little while, if not the entire weekend, at Piedmont Park for the 40th annual Atlanta Pride Festival.

The Sweet Auburn Heritage Festival runs both Saturday and Sunday in the Sweet Auburn district just east of Downtown Atlanta, with music, food and other vendors with plenty of items for sale.

Just down the street, the Martin Luther King National Historic Site marks its 30th Anniversary with lots of free activities for the whole family.

Gwinnett Gladiators' Fan Fest is also free at the Gwinnett Arena Sunday afternoon. There will be a kids hockey shot area, autograph sessions with the players, a Zamboni Q&A and more.

And you can certainly root, root, root for the home team as the Atlanta Braves take on the San Francisco Giants in Game 3 of the National League Divisional Series, down at Turner Field.

Take a look at Metromix Atlanta for even more stuff to do this weekend!
