"With a Servant's Heart -- a Day of Service", January 8th | Community Spirit

On Saturday, January 8th, Governor-elect Nathan Deal will host his first inaugural event, "With a Servant's Heart -- a Day of Service". On this day of service, volunteers throughout the state will come together to give back to their communities.

 Governor-elect Deal, future first lady Sandra Deal, Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, Secretary of State Brian Kemp, Attorney Gen.-elect Sam Olens, state Insurance Commissioner-elect Ralph Hudgens, state School Superintendent-elect John Barge, School Superintendent Brad Bryant, Congressman Phil Gingrey (R-Marietta) and Congressman Austin Scott (R-Tifton) will be staged at different locations across the Metro-Atlanta area.

The schedule of appearances will go as follows:

9:00 a.m. Secretary of State Brian Kemp: FFA-FFCLA Center at 740 FFA Camp Road in Covington

9:00 a.m. Congressman Austin Scott: Middle Georgia Food Bank at 4490 Ocmulgee East Boulevard in Macon

9:00 a.m. State School Superintendent Dr. John Barge: Rome Action Ministries Food Drive at 1468 Turner McCall Boulevard in Rome

9:00 a.m. State School Superintendant Brad Bryant: Habitat for Humanity at 1213 & 1219 Dunvin Drive in Jonesboro

9:15 a.m. -10:00 a.m. Gov.-elect Nathan Deal: Atlanta Union Mission at 921 Howell Mill Road in Atlanta
