M*A*S*H* star to perform in Atlanta | Arts & Culture
ATLANTA -- An Oscar-nominated actress and singer will visit Atlanta later this month.
Sally Kellerman is best known for playing Maj. Margaret J. "Hot Lips" Houlihan in the film adaptation of M*A*S*H* -- she was nominated for an Academy Award for the performance. She has appeared in more than 90 films and television shows, and has also lent her singing talent to several album recordings and cabaret shows.
Kellerman will perform one of those cabaret shows at Jerry Farber's Side Door in Buckhead on July 27 and 28.
"I couldn't be more excited that Sally has chosen to come to Atlanta and play at my club her first time here," Jerry Farber, owner of Jerry Farber's Side Door, said in a statement.
Kellerman will also attend a special screening of M*A*S*H* at the Landmark Midtown Art Theater at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 29. The screening will be followed by a question-and-answer session with Emory University film studies professor Dr. Eddy von Mueller and a special brunch at Apres Diem near the theater.
Tickets for the film screening are $25 each, while a ticket that includes admission to the brunch is $75. Only 350 tickets are available for the film and 80 will be sold for the brunch.
Kellerman's cabaret performance will begin at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, July 27 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 28.
Tickets to both events can be purchased at www.xorbia.com.
