'Redemption 316' debuts in Atlanta

ATLANTA -- Atlanta-based independent production company Zulu Pictures premiered Redemption 316 on Thursday Sept. 12 at the beautiful Woodruff Arts Center. Redemption 316 is a riveting tale of a college sophomore convicted for killing her fiance. Jessica Wood maintains her innocence throughout the course of the trial. Cast away into a world of the criminal minded, Jessica strives to survive prison life amid brutal assaults and gang affiliates who stand to gain nothing but respect in the mist of the weak. While in prison, Jessica crosses paths with Zane, a diehard gang leader who wants her for a sex slave, while Krime, a repeat offender serving life without the possibility of parole, wants Jessica split between them for peace to reign, a decision Zane calls a slap in the face. Things heats up as inmates are being killed in numbers while corrupt officers play both sides. Jessica must fight to stay alive as she becomes the bait in one of America’s deadliest female prison rivalries of all time. As the clock ticks and the days go by, signs of hope diminish. After serving two of her 15 years behind bars, a review of the case draws her closer to regaining her freedom, but she must face the ultimate task to redeem herself or roast in jail.

The premiere of Redemption 316 was opened with a private VIP reception, viewing of the film, with a Q&A featuring Frank Dievbiere, actress Haley Goldman and inspirational speaker Desiree Lee. The powerful film was also selected to screen at the prestigious 2013 Capital City Black Film Festival.

Zulu pictures is currently in pre-production for its follow-up project to Redemption 316. For more information about Redemption 316, visit www.zulupictures.com.
