MIDTOWN: Coca-Cola scouting intown buildings

ATLANTA -- The Coca-Cola Co. is asking Midtown and Downtown Atlanta building owners if they can accommodate a new 125,000-square-foot lease for the beverage giant.

The inquiries are linked to Coke starting the process of relocating up to 600 workers to its 35-acre complex on North Avenue, where it's planning a $90 million modernization of its 1.8 million-square-foot campus. That includes 1 Coca-Cola Plaza, the most visible tower, with the iconic Coca-Cola logo across the top.

Ronald Hart Named to Barron’s 2011 “Top 100 Financial Advisors”

ATLANTA, GA May 17, 2011 – Morgan Stanley Smith Barney announced today that Ronald Hart, a managing director of the Hart Group in the Firm’s Atlanta office, has been named to Barron’s annual list of America’s Top 100 Financial Advisors.

The “Barron’s Top 100 Financial Advisors” is a select group of individuals who are screened on a number of criteria. Among factors the survey takes into consideration are assets under management, revenue produced for the Firm and quality of service provided to clients. Investment performance is not an explicit criterion.

“I am extremely proud that Ron Hart is representing Morgan Stanley Smith Barney on this list,” commented Michael Outlaw, Branch Manager of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s Atlanta office.

More and more Americans are recognizing the contributions of Hispanic immigrants as the new pilgrims in America.

 

People in United States realize that  they should express thanks for the Hispanics they share their country with, specially because Hispanics are a tremendous asset to the United States, even in times of recession. 

 

In other hand, despite the importance and prowess of Hispanics in the United States, they are often alienated by the US media and States such as Arizona or Georgia.

 

Hispanics are the largest ethnic minority and fastest growing minority in the United States, comprising 15.8 percent of the population in 2009.

As part of the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month in Atlanta, El Club de Comerciantes and The Black Latino Council will introduce The Rainbow Purchasing Program during the National Association of Convenient Stores (NACS) Show . This initiative has two simple goals: to increase sales and to save money for Hispanic and African American owned businesses.

Fulton County and Atlanta Award Security Contracts

Norred & Associates, Atlanta's largest locally-owned and operated security firm, has been awarded two substantial security contracts by Fulton County and the city of Atlanta that are expected to generate additional hiring in the metro Atlanta area, according to company officials.

Norred's contracts with Fulton County and the city of Atlanta are for one year each, with two one-year options.   Norred & Associates has hired and assigned 117 employees to the Fulton County contract. Approximately 150 security officers will be allocated to the city of Atlanta contract.   May 27 is the anticipated start date for the city contract.
