9th Annual Day of Beauty 2012 @ The Paul Mitchell School | Community Spirit
On Monday, April 23rd 8-1:30pm, the 9th annual "Day of Beauty" to benefit special needs kids and their hard working teachers will be held again at The Paul Mitchell School- Atlanta located at 887 W. Marietta Street, Atlanta @ The King Plow Arts Center.
On this day, volunteers from various salons will be offering haircuts, color services, up do's, facial waxing, make-up, manicures and chair massages to children with Down’s syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Autism – absolutely free.
The schools are all from the DeKalb County as well as a Special Olympics swim team. For most of these kids, this will be their first visit to a professional hair salon.
Last year “Day of Beauty” serviced over 250 kids and teachers. This year they hope to provide services to over 300 participants.
Due to the size of this event, they are asking for hair stylists, nail technicians (only doing basic polish application), estheticians (facial waxing only), make-up artists (basic application) and massage therapists (only doing 15 minute chair massages) to help make this year's event the biggest and best yet.
Volunteers will be need from 8 am until 1:30 pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and your salon/spa name will be included in any/all event marketing materials.
If you or any of your staff would like to make a special kid's day (and teachers!) one that they will never forget, please consider volunteering!
I you wish to form part of this wonderful event please contact Gloria Owczarski, Founder/Coordinator of "Day of Beauty".
