ATLANTA -- Introducing the Windsor Warriors, a team sponsored by Windsor Property Management to promote participation in charitable fundraisers and community events which strengthens and inspires a community. The Windsor Warriors have teamed up with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training (TNT) to prepare six Atlanta WindsorCommunity residents for the upcoming Publix Georgia Half Marathon on Sunday, March 17. The six members include Tamara Beard, Julia Wolfe, Meghan McDonnell, Michelle Williams, Reagan Wolfe and Sarah Eales. With professional coaches to guide their every step, the participants went through a four month training program while helping the organization raise much needed funds towards the fight against blood cancer.

The first Windsor Warrior team originated in Houston, Texas in 2011. In March of 2012, one of the team members, Tamara Beard, transferred from Houston to Atlanta, and began her mission to create the Atlanta Windsor Warriors Team. Tamara met a resident at Windsor at Brookhaven who was associated with TNT and was inspired to contact the program to join forces in making a difference. Most recently, the Windsor Warriors organized an event that raised $2,000.00 for Team In Training and is well on the way to raising over $10,000 by mid 2013. The Windsor Warrior team also consists of Windsor associates, including Catherine Boyd, Felicia Cox, Bri Haygood, Meli Robichaud, Brooke Schumacher, Christopher Telo and Anna Zboinska, who have organized the fundraising events.

Tamara was honored with the Windsor Marketing Magic Award for her dedication to creating the team in Atlanta and partnering with TNT. The Windsor Warrior Program is now active at all Windsor Communities in Georgia, Texas, and Florida. A Windsor Warrior logo appears on all event promotional items and at Tamara’s suggestion, a lapel pin of the logo was created and is worn by all Windsor associates in those states.

“Our Windsor Warrior team are inspired by the stories of those affected by blood cancers and will continue to actively do their part to eradicate these life-threatening diseases,” says Tamara Beard. “We can’t wait to toe the start line at this year’s Publix Georgia Half Marathon with our fellow TNT teammates.”

The Atlanta Windsor Warrior Team continues to grow. The Windsor Warriors were recognized in Best Self Atlanta magazine for their impressive tent display at the Allstate Life Insurance Atlanta 13.1 marathon.
