On Thursday, Georgia Tech spokesman Matt Nagel announced that Steven "Turk" Terry has been charged with burglary, armed robbery and firearm possession in connection with the crime.
Terry has been in the Fulton County Jail since July 4 on several unrelated charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, battery, cruelty to children and robbery, according to jail records.
Nagel said police have identified the second suspect as 21-year-old Terrance "Boo Boo" Watley. Watley is still at large; he is described as a black man, about 5-feet-7-inches tall and 175 pounds. Anyone who sees him is asked to call Georgia Tech police at 404-894-2500 or Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477.
"Our investigators tirelessly worked on this case," Georgia Tech Police Capt. Mickey Hembree said in a statement. "Through the investigation, we've learned that these two individuals accessed the building by tailgating in behind students."
Hembree added that Georgia Tech police officers are now working to educate students about staying safe on campus.
