ATLANTA -- The mother of the man accused of shooting his wife eight times -- three times in the head -- outside their Sandy Springs apartment spoke to 11Alive News Tuesday.
Margaret Parson, mother of Michael Parson, said she was in shock and disbelief over the allegations that her son tried to kill his wife of three years Adina.
"They seemed to be a happy, little couple," Margaret said from her home in South Carolina. "If something was wrong, they didn't confide in me."
Margaret said she loves Adina like a daughter and prays for her speedy recovery.
Doctors for Adina Parson held a Tuesday afternoon news conference to discuss her condition.
She has been transferred to the Shepherd Center from Grady Memorial Hospital.
Parson, 40, was shot eight times while outside her apartment in Sandy Springs on April 20. Her husband Michael Parson has been charged with the shooting. He was caught over the weekend in Texas, and is awaiting extradition back to Georgia.
