Clayton Co. sheriff, ex-sheriff face off in last debate | News

ATLANTA -- Clayton County Sheriff Kem Kimbrough edged out former Sheriff Victor Hill in Clayton County's primary election on July 31. Now they're both fighting hard to take Tuesday's runoff election.

They faced off live on V-103 Monday morning with Frank Ski and Mo Ivory moderating.

During the debate, both candidates tried to explain skeletons in their closets.

Back in January, Hill was indicted on 37 counts, including racketeering, for his actions as sheriff of Clayton County four years ago.

He insists the charges were manufactured by Sheriff Kimbrough, which Kimbrough denies.

"Let's find something on Victor Hill - that was his plan for re-election," Hill said during the debate. "It's not let's deal with the facts, let's deal with my record. If we really looked, there is no record."

"We'll let him continue to spin the facts," Sheriff Kimbrough countered. "We know his day is coming when all of these facts and evidence will be aired. When all that occurs, the truth will be heard."
