"Heavy"-The Wesley Cook Album Mission | News
Local musician, Wesley Cook, only has a few short days left to reach his Kickstarter campaign goal.
Kickstarter is an online funding platform for creative projects-everything from films, music, art and design, and technology projects are brought to life through the direct support of others. Since Kickstarter launched in 2009, over $350 million has been pledged by more than 2.5 million people to fund more than 30,000 creative projects. Wesley Cook has hopes that his new album, "Heavy" will be the next project funded through Kickstarter.
It has been over two and half years since the release of his last album, "New Ground". In that short time, Wesley has experienced some memorable highs like appearing in Rolling Stone Magazine-every musician's dream-but he has also experienced the hardest tragedy of his life, the suicide of his brother Doug. Both of these extremes are reflected in Wesley's new songs for "Heavy" which will be dedicated to his brother Doug.
The money raised through Kickstarter will be used for studio time, professional engineering and production, musicians, graphic design, photography, CD duplication and distribution.
The deadline to reach the campaign goal is 12 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2012. Click here to learn more about The Wesley Cook Album Mission and find out how you can donate.
