Atlanta Police investigate deadly shooting near Quad
News

ATLANTA-- Atlanta Police may have new clues in their investigation of a deadly early morning shooting outside a Midtown nightclub.

Rick Day, the owner of QUAD, has turned over surveillance video from area security cameras, still pictures and license plate numbers gathered from the time of the crime.

24-year-old Morrie Brooks of Peachtree City was shot and killed in a parking lot just south of the QUAD. It happened when the club closed around 4 a.m.

Day said Brooks and friends got into an argument with another group inside the club after a comment to a female.

"Both groups went outside where shouts and threats continued. Security cameras clearly show the perpetrator flashing gag sings and making gestures of hostility," said Day.

The club owner also turned over the names of potential suspects because the staff runs all patrons' IDs through a scanner to determine if they are real.
