Police release sketch of man who made sexual threats in Piedmont Park | News
ATLANTA -- A woman went to the Atlanta Public Safety Headquarters on Tuesday to report sexual misconduct she encountered in Piedmont Park.
Police said the woman told them she was walking through the city park on Tuesday, Dec. 6 around 2 p.m. She said she was approached by a black male who said, "I want to rape you! Slut!"
Investigators said the woman immediately ran away from the male in the direction of an area she believed to be safe. When running, she said she went towards some workers from the Piedmont Park Conservatory, who she had seen prior to the incident during her walk.
The woman told police she turned around to see that the male was chasing after her. One of the workers, later identified as John Frazier, called 911 for the woman.
Frazier and another worker chased the suspect towards Tenth Street NE, near Grady High School. They lost sight of the suspect at this point.
Police described the suspect as a black male, in his 30s, wearing a low hair cut, a light brown shirt, blue jeans and carrying a backpack. They said he is about 6-foot-2-inches tall, with brown eyes and a medium build.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call police at (404) 546-4260, or Crime Stoppers Atlanta at (404) 577-8477.
