ATLANTA -- Supporters of a man accused of stabbing five people on New Year's Eve are meeting Sunday night to discuss the future of his case as they try to get him released on bond.
Nineteen-year-old Luke O'Donovan is charged with five counts of aggravated assault and was stabbed himself during the incident, which happened at a party on Gibson Street.
According to the incident report, "witnesses observed a group of five to six males fighting in the back yard...over a discussion regarding sexuality."
Police say the fight escalated when O'Donovan pulled out a knife.
The report states, "Witnesses stated that the victims were attempting to stop Mr. O'Donovan when they were also stabbed."
Emergency personnel treated several victims at the scene. Police later found three victims and O'Donovan at Atlanta Medical Center.
Police later recovered the bloody knife believed to be used in the altercation at a nearby intersection.
