News

ATLANTA (WXIA) -- Georgia Tech Police said Thursday night that they have arrested a suspect in two sexual battery cases from earlier this week.

John Perry Smith, 43, of Bremen was charged with two misdemeanor counts of sexual battery.

Smith is accused in connection with two separate incidents on the Georgia Tech campus Monday evening. In the first incident, police said a man pretended to fall down the stairs in front of a dormitory so he could grab and inappropriately touch the female student next to him. In the second incident, a short time later, police said the suspect ran up behind a female student, reached up her skirt and touched her in an inappropriate fashion.

Images of the suspect and his truck was caught on surveillance images shortly after the incidents occurred.

Smith was booked into the Fulton County Jail and is awaiting a bond hearing.
