Dog who escaped kennel reunited with owner | News
ATLANTA -- The search for a missing German Shepherd is over.
After three days on the run, Coco has been reunited with her worried owner Haley Sorrow.
The white German Shepherd rescue went missing from a midtown kennel on Wednesday. It appeared Coco escaped through a broken fence at Puddle of Pooch.
More than 5,000 people shared 11Alive's Facebook post announcing the search for Coco.
The German Shepherd was spotted in a neighborhood about two miles away.
"She was just walking down the street looking lost, kind of dirty -- definitely on the lam," said Scott Webb. "I kind of dropped what I was doing to see if I could call her. It was clear she wasn't coming to anyone."
Neighbors tried for two days to catch her, but were unsuccessful. Then someone remembered seeing Haley's desperate posts on social media and they called her.
Cell phone video of the reunion tells the rest of the story.
Haley is thankful for the total strangers who kept an eye on Coco as she came and went.
"They are angels sent from heaven," she said. "I am so thankful for them. I'm thankful for their perseverance. They were absolutely amazing."
Coco bears some scars from her journey, including bandaged paws where she wore the pads of her feet off and bruises that indicate she may have been hit by a car, but she is alive and home.
