Officials investigating fire at Midtown's Skate Escape | News
ATLANTA — Fire officials are investigating Saturday morning after portions of a local Midtown business burned overnight.
Officials say flames broke out at Skate Escape across the street from the Piedmont Park around 11:30 p.m. Friday night. No one was inside the Piedmont Avenue business at the time and no one was injured.
Authorities are still working to discover the cause of the fire, but an initial investigation determined that flames were contained to a storage area for the skate rental business. Officials closed Piedmont Avenue from 10th to 14th Street while they worked.
Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to apartments next door.
The investigation continues.
