Georgia High School Football Predictions: Week 9

LILBURN, GA -- Georgia high school football is entering into its ninth week of play and the matchups keep getting bigger and more meaningful. Luckily, Atlanta.HighSchoolSports.net and Massey Matchups are here to help straighten out what you can expect to see tonight. We take a look at who will win some of Friday's biggest games.

Week Nine Game of the Week Nominations

LILBURN, GA -- With 43.6 percent of the online vote, Brookwood at Parkview is 11Alive and Atlanta.HighSchoolSports.net's Game of the Week.

There are some definite playoff implications in the game. Brookwood is 4-1 in Region 8-5A play and is currently in third place in the region; Parkview is 3-2 in region play and finds themselves tied for fourth in the region with Dacula.

A Brookwood loss would presumably drop the Broncos into a three-way tie for fourth-place in the region. However, in that scenario, Parkview and Dacula (the other fourth-place team, assuming they beat Archer) both own the tie-breaker over Brookwood. A Bronco loss could drop the team down to essentially fifth in the region. Then, Brookwood would face 6-1 Grayson on October 28.

Attorney: City 'Destroyed' Evidence in Case of Atlanta Eagle Bar Raid

ATLANTA, Ga. -- A year after a controversial police raid at the Atlanta Eagle gay bar, court documents in a lawsuit against the City and police point to a possible cover-up by the city.

An attorney for the Atlanta Eagle, which is suing the City and police in federal court, says police and others destroyed evidence just days after the federal judge in the case ordered the city to turn in the evidence.

In court documents, the attorney, Daniel Grossman, tells the judge about the sudden "deletion of mobile phone data," text messages, emails, and photos taken during the raid; and the "overwriting of back-up (computer) tapes." It's evidence that could be crucial to the plaintiffs as they try to prove their case against the city and police -- how police planned the raid, what they did and said to each other and to bar patrons while they were conducting the raid, and how they handled the investigation following the raid.
