Woodfire Grill Introduces New Monthly Wine Tastings On April 19

Beginning this month, Woodfire Grill is offering wine tastings carefully chosen by the restaurant’s wine director, Nicolas Quinones, and sommelier, Catherine Hatch. The tastings will be available to guests dining at the restaurant from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. every third Thursday from April through August. The wine tastings will be concurrent with regular seated dinner service but will not be considered pairings, so guests may dine as they please. The restaurant will pour eight wines focused on a specific theme or region. At each tasting, either Quinones or Hatch will be present. The cost is $15 per person with tastings limited to 30 guests each month.

On Thursday, April 19, champagne and sparkling wines will be featured. With pours of Cava to tête de cuvee champagnes like Dom Pérignon, sparklers are thought to complement food better than any other wine.

The Optimist wants Atlantans to contribute to the restaurant's décor

The Optimist and The Oyster Bar at The Optimist, Ford Fry’s highly anticipated seafood restaurant and oyster bar located on Atlanta’s west side, is asking future patrons to be a part of the restaurant’s oceanic culture. The soon-to-open eatery is looking for images of guests enjoying fun in the sun and the sea. Suitable photos include any image portraying surfside fun, from fishing, surfing and other water sports to playing in the sand and relaxing with family and friends on the beach.

“When I look at my own beach photos, I am reminded of feeling completely relaxed while spending quality time with my family and the sense of excitement for what the day’s catch might bring,” says Fry. “I want our guests to recall these very same feelings when dining at The Optimist or The Oyster Bar at The Optimist.”

Chick-fil-A to host mother-son 'Date Knight'

Chick-fil-A to host mother-son 'Date Knight'

ATLANTA -- All of the Chick-fil-A restaurants in metro Atlanta will host a special mother-son Date Knight on Saturday, Apr. 28.

The Date Knight format will be similar to that of the franchise's massively popular Daddy-Daughter Date Nights. It will give mothers and sons a special chance to enjoy some quality time together.

The event will have a medieval theme, hence the "Knight" part of its title.

"One of Chick-fil-A's goals is to promote community connections and enrich the lives of everyone we come in contact with," Robin Lomax, Chick-fil-A area marketing director, said in a statement. "We understand the importance of mother-son relationships and want to encourage local moms to come to Chick-fil-A, enjoy their sons' company over a meal and have fun."
