Many of our readers have asked “What’s planned for 2011?”. Our agenda is somewhat of an open book as I generally make it a habit to create a To-Do item on Foursquare so that I have it down somewhere.

t’s been a wonderful year in Atlanta dining and this year there were some difficult decisions for us to make selecting the Top 10 Atlanta Restaurants for 2010. While we had the pleasure of enjoying many fine meals throughout the year, the following restaurants distinguished themselves in both food quality and service capturing not only a spot in the Top 10 Atlanta Restaurants for 2010  but also a place in our hearts.

Chocolate Pink Cafe Closed Yesterday, December 12th

According to whatnowatlanta.com, Owner Michael Goodrich tweeted, earlier today, that the pastry shop located at 905 Juniper Street NE closed after five and a half years in business.

“After five and a half years of providing the best pastries, cakes and chocolates in Atlanta, Chocolate Pink has decided to close its doors as of December 12, 2010.”

The pastry shop was located at 905 Juniper Condos which has restaurant and mercantile space that has yet to see a successful concept.

Lupe and Beleza, located just a few doors down from Chocolate Pink, met the same fate earlier this year.

“Our decision to move on to other ventures has been difficult, but we feel the time is right.”

Popular Steakhouse, STK, to Open In Atlanta

Popular steakhouse, STK, is ready to take its, much anticipated, place at the corner of 12th Street and Peachtree in Midtown.

After more than ten months of anticipation, the steakhouse that has locations in Los Angeles, Miami and New York has, finally, filed a building permit with the City of Atlanta to begin construction.

Earlier this year, STK announced that it would have a fully functional location in Atlanta by December, opening at the Loews Hotel in the 12th & Midtown development.

According to whatsnowatlanta.com, the work specifications outlined in the permit includes an “interior finish” and the conversion of “retail space into a restaurant.”

Located at 1075 Peachtree, STK will occupy 12,000 square feet on two levels in the 12th & Midtown development.

Popular Midtown Eatery to Close it's Doors in December

Nickiemoto's in Midtown Atlanta is closing.

An employee at the pan Asian and sushi restaurant at 990 Piedmont Ave. NE confirmed the restaurant's last day will be Dec. 12.

Taste of Atlanta at Tech Square, October 23rd and 24th

One of the most anticipated events in Atlanta, takes place in the heart of Midtown, this weekend. Taste of Atlanta is a 2-day outdoor food and wine festival that showcases the diversity of Atlanta's food scene and attracts foodies from Atlanta, the Southeast and beyond.

Now in its 9th year, this year's festival is being held at Tech Square (5th Street Bridge in Atlanta) in the heart of Midtown Atlanta encompassing Spring Street and 5th Street. Guests will be able to enjoy meal selections from more than seventy restaurants in the metro area.

Tickets to this event are $35, at the door, and children under 13 are admitted free of charge.
