ATLANTA -- Michael Hines, rated the No. 2 junior golfer in the state of Georgia and 48th nationally in the class of 2012, signed a letter-of-intent to play at Georgia Tech during the recently-completed early signing period, head coach Bruce Heppler announced.
"We are very excited to have Michael join our program," said Heppler. "We feel we have signed the best player in the state for the 5th straight year. [Assistant] Coach [Christian] Newton has done a great job with this. Michael has some great physical skills, and I believe once he gets to use our facilities, his game will really grow.
"Michael has grown up around several of our guys from that area and truly understands the Georgia Tech way. He has embraced our program and our goals. He is a perfect fit."
