MIDTOWN: Procrastinator's Guide to the Peachtree

MIDTOWN: Procrastinator's Guide to the Peachtree

ATLANTA-- Race numbers for the AJC Peachtree Road Race are in the mail. You should receive yours by June 20th if you won a spot in the 2011 lottery. For some, it will be a wakeup call.

Race director Tracey Russell said it happens every year, "It's usually not the new runners. They're out there training and practicing because they're nervous about their first Peachtree. It's the runners that have done it before, but maybe haven't run in a few years." They're the ones that show up on 4th of July without a single day of training. They're the ones that end up in the medical tent.

A quick glance at the calendar might give you a sinking feeling, but there is good news for procrastinators. You still have options.

One, consider walking or doing a run/walk interval. You won't be alone.

ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech junior left-hander Jed Bradley was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers Monday with the 15 overall pick of the 2011 Major League Baseball First Year Player draft.

Bradley is just the third Georgia Tech pitcher to ever to be selected in the first round, joining Deck McGuire -- who was picked 11th overall by the Toronto Blue Jays last season - and former hurler Kevin Brown. Brown was taken seventh overall by the Texas Rangers in 1986.

Bradley is the school's 10th overall first-round selection and seventh under head coach Danny Hall.
